back in the swing

kids are back at school, we are all relaxed after our holidays and ready to get back into the swing.

In adition to the One Little Word class with Ali and Project 365. I am doing a few other things to get my creative spark back this year and wanted to share two of them with you.

The first is Rhonna Farrer's Creativity Excercises. These are just fantastic! I love them.

You pay for the download and you get all these prompts to boost your creative process. There is a ton of other stuff in the kit too, a font, sketches, journal pages, sticker printables and labels. love it! so worth it.

The second thing I stumbled upon is The Joy of Love by Willette Designs Photography. I am pretty sure you can still sign up for the month-long daily photography prompts and tips.

It's going to be a great year!

Happy New Year!

No resolutions for me this year, but I am taking Ali Edwards' One Little Word class. I love the idea of choosing one word to focus on all year and Ali has such a classic style. I am excited to get started, but am still contemplating my word.

I am also attempting Project 365 for the third year. I am hoping that doing Becky Higgings Project Life I will have more success. Unfortunately I don't have the new kit, but I got one midway through last year when my husband went to Hawaii.

On a personal note I am still tossing up whether to go back and finish my studies or not. I have completed one year of a two year course and to be honest I really can't see myself working in the field when I finish, but I don't like the idea of not finishing something. Such a dilemma!

Tomorrow I am leaving on the first of two holidays this summer, I am really looking forward to relaxing and spending time with friends.

Stay safe

Were did December go?

Well I had every intention of doing Daily December this year, but didn't even get to the first day. I know December is busy enough in the Northern hemisphere, but for us south of the equator we also have the whole end of school year presentations, concerts and summer vacation preparations. crazy!!

I also had my daughters 7th birthday party the day after the last day of school. She had a disco party here is the table I did (frame by Amy Martin):I did have time to do the latest Fix It Friday, too late to add it to the blog though, but here it is anyway:
here is the original:

and my fix, again using Coffeeshop's sun kissed action and some minor adjustments:

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and that all my Australian friends are enjoying their summer. We are going to the Gold Coast in a few weeks, I cannot wait.

So I will leave you with a picture of our Christmas Tree and our beautiful seafood lunch with prawns, octopus, mussels and butter poached scallops in their shells with celeriac puree. (frame by Vinnie Pearce)

first Fix it Friday

I have seen the I Heart Faces Fix it Friday around for a while and today in an attempt to procrastinate on doing some homework, I decided to give it a go.

I love October

I really miss being in the US, especially at this time of yeah. But October in Australia is pretty special too. I love having flowers around and finally not sneezing and having itchy eyes. I love all the celebrations in our house in October.

I recieved some yummy scrapbook goodies in the mail this week. yayyyy I can't wait to get into my scraproom to play, but unfortunately with all the end of year assignments, exams and final presentations due in the next few weeks I will have to wait a while. but here are some photos of just some of the goodies I got.

I have also been busy with some little projects:

Have a great week!

changes

Well I am no longer on any CTs, kind of bittersweet for me. I have loved every single team I have been on (and there have been a few Polkadot Potato, Nancy Comelab, Mandabean, The Lilypad, Tracy Ann, Creashens, Shabby Pickle, and DAM. But it is time to move on to other things going on in my life. I still am doing some digital scrapping, and certainly still buying supplies, but am moving back towards hybrid and paper.

I did a class recently with the talented and oh so sweet Debee Campos. I am still catching up on some of the classes I didn't get to finish during the workshop (which you can purchase the PDFs for yourself at her cute etsy here)

Here are my first two pages:

And finally a few things I am loving this week.

First is this salad we had last night. We had it with some steak, I ended up giving my steak to hubby so I could have more salad. We had enough cheese left to have it again for lunch, yeah we loved it that much. My new favourite for sure.

Donna Hay's Roasted Haloumi, Bacon & Tomato Salad

Second are these cute images from pugly pixel, she come some really cute freebies on her blog.

And lastly is Masterchef! I love it, I can't help it. I have watched both seasons of Masterchef Australia, season 1 of Masterchef New Zealand, am watching the first season of Masterchef USA (sad to see Sherone and Mike go). And tonight is the premier of Junior Masterchef.

Hope you all have a great week. Mine will be full of study and trying to catch up on Archicad tuts.
