Daily December album

These are the pages of my Daily December album. All the digital stuff is from the lilypad and I used some graph papers, kraft card and white cardstock.

Here are some close ups:

back at the lilypad

I am so happy to be back home. After a bit of a break from digi-scrapping I am back at the lilypad. I was on the first CT there and love all the designers and people there.

Here are a few of my lilypad layouts from the past couple of months. (click on images for credits)

retreat & WITL

I went on a scrapbook retreat recently with the Scrapping with Soul people in Nowra. It was great to catch up with old friends and meet new ones and it was fatastic to do some scrapping. I have only recently started to enjoy scrapping with other people and although the whole pack everything up that you want to take is difficult, it is worth it and I really enjoy the company and feedback you get scrapping with others.

I also did a photography class with the talented Rowena Field.

Here are the 6 pages I finished (there were a few more that were started, but not yet finished)

Ali Edward's Week in the Life, did you do it?
I gathered up all the notes and photos, but am still now sure how I want to document it yet. If you have done yours I would love to see it!

Last year I used this template by Karla Dudley and was really pleased with the way it turned out, though I only did it for 3 days.

(fyi, Karla is no longer at the Digichick, she now sells at Design House Digital, but I couldn't see this kit there)

Thanks for dropping by.

some diy

I have seen lots of cute ornate painted frames around blogland and have been on the search for similar frames for myself for the past 4 or 5 months. I have been looking at yard sales, thrift stores and markets and the few I had seen were too expensive. Now I wish I had been to more of those places when we lived in the US.

Anyway I finally found it... in a store! It was huge and ugly looking, but the price was right and I could see the potential.

Even when my kids saw it they said "nice frame" and when I said "don't you like the picture too" they looked at me trying to figure out if I was serious.

So here is the before:

I took it all apart and painted it all white. I found a message board the perfect size and covered it in fabric I had leftover from when I 'wallpapered' fabric onto the wall between two windows in our living room (using starch, I made my own with cornflour) and here is a photo I have shown of this wall.

After putting it all back together, minus the glass, I added a few pushpins and a cute little garland. I love the way it turned out:

back in the swing

kids are back at school, we are all relaxed after our holidays and ready to get back into the swing.

In adition to the One Little Word class with Ali and Project 365. I am doing a few other things to get my creative spark back this year and wanted to share two of them with you.

The first is Rhonna Farrer's Creativity Excercises. These are just fantastic! I love them.

You pay for the download and you get all these prompts to boost your creative process. There is a ton of other stuff in the kit too, a font, sketches, journal pages, sticker printables and labels. love it! so worth it.

The second thing I stumbled upon is The Joy of Love by Willette Designs Photography. I am pretty sure you can still sign up for the month-long daily photography prompts and tips.

It's going to be a great year!

Happy New Year!

No resolutions for me this year, but I am taking Ali Edwards' One Little Word class. I love the idea of choosing one word to focus on all year and Ali has such a classic style. I am excited to get started, but am still contemplating my word.

I am also attempting Project 365 for the third year. I am hoping that doing Becky Higgings Project Life I will have more success. Unfortunately I don't have the new kit, but I got one midway through last year when my husband went to Hawaii.

On a personal note I am still tossing up whether to go back and finish my studies or not. I have completed one year of a two year course and to be honest I really can't see myself working in the field when I finish, but I don't like the idea of not finishing something. Such a dilemma!

Tomorrow I am leaving on the first of two holidays this summer, I am really looking forward to relaxing and spending time with friends.

Stay safe
